I’m a senior and this is my third year on the Silver Streak staff. I am also involved with the Treasure Chest as one of the Photography Editors. When I’m not working on school work or at work , I like to go hang out with my friends and be myself for the day. I love music, without choir I would most likely would go crazy out of my mind. I love taking pictures. It’s a passion of mine that I couldn’t do without along with music. I think I am easy to get along with, and I like to make friends. I hope one day I will become a well known photographer or a performer in the music world.

I am a senior this year and this is my second year on The Silver Streak staff. Aside from my love for journalism and writing, I love painting, sleeping and watching Criminal Minds. I also love food. Music is one of the many loves of my life, including artists like Adele, Coldplay, The Fray, Ingrid Michaelson, Jars of Clay, and my all time favorite Jesus Culture. Jesus, my family and friends are most important to me. My mom always said that she would rather spend her money on making memories than on something that’s merely going to waste away. That’s what I hope to live by. Being that it is my senior year, I still have no idea what I will do in my future or where I will attend school. That might be bad. Then again it might not. I find myself to be a spontaneous person and the way it looks right now, the plans for my future will be just as spur-of-the-moment as I am which is without a doubt a very good thing.

This year marks my second to walk the halls of Randall High and my first to write for the Silverstreak. As for other school activities I’m involved in–well that list doesn’t exsist. Writing is a passion of mine and I will make a career out of it after I graduate from college. Making decisions and avoiding distractions are two of my greatest weaknesses. Psychology also interests me; I think the fact that every mind works differently is fascinating. Meeting new people and making friends is my favorite. Open mindedness is always important. I live inspired and strongly encourage others to do the same.

I am a sophomore this year at Randall and it’s my first year with newspaper. I’m on the golf team and love to write! I spend my time usually hanging out with friends and stressing out about school work, newspaper and being the best I can on my team but I love my life the way it is. I couldn’t live without music, I love being outdoors, camping, hiking, golfing, swimming, boating and even playing in the front yard with my dog Max. I write a lot of poetry and song lyrics but most of the time at a golf course and I absolutely love the Dallas Cowboys, football is definitely my favorite sport to watch. For my future I plan on going to Texas Tech for Golf and Journalism. I also love to travel, I have family in Germany that my brother and I go see every so often, and I go on a big summer trip every year. And last but certainly not least, I love my family and friends, they mean the world to me.

I am a junior, this is my first year on silverstreak and my second year living in Texas. Although I have come to condiser this vast grassland my home and the newspaper staff my family, there’s still quiet a bit to get used to. Such as waking up to the smell that natives refer to as “money” that never fails to trigger my gag reflex and investing into an entire inventory of bath and body works’ lotions because of the brutal aridness. Deadlines has become a curse word. The words make me cringe in anticipation of long hours of homework. All my classes especially newspaper require quite a bit of dedication and attention, which is asking a lot out of me considering that I have the attention spand of a two year old….. squirrell! Hi there. Anyways, along with newspaper I play the trumpet in the Randall Raider Rythym which won first place at Putnam this year! This will hopefully be the first win this year out of many. I’m also in National Honor Society and attend The Rock Nondemonational Church. I have no idea where I’m going to college or what I want to major in. I’m just going to follow the coursing river they call life and see where it takes me. I love music, writing, my friends and family, and tasty food. I try to include them in my life as much as I can.

I’m a sophomore and this is my first year writing for the Silver Streak. I’m what I call a mix of it all. I like a little of everything with no favorite in anything. I enjoy reading a good book (whether it be historical, fiction, romance, or anything else), writing (poetry mainly, though sometimes a brilliant longer idea pops into my head), band (this is my fifth year playing trumpet), spending time with my massive family (6 brothers, 3 sisters, 3 nieces, 2 nephews, a sister in law, and 2 brothers in law; by the way, these are all fully related), eating ( anything and everything, but especially Mexican, Cheddars, and Chinese), learning random weird facts that no one else ever knows or wants to know, watching movies (any and all movies but The Notebook, UGH!!), listening to music every day all day ( I love, love, love music and I listen to all kinds but heavy metal and rap), singing just for fun, dancing in the rain (cliché but still a great activity), and being a biology nerd. After high school I plan on getting into A&M Corpus Christi and getting my pre-med there before transferring to Boston University of Medicine for the next 8 to 12 years to get my medical degree and a PhD in Oncology Research and Treatment. I want to get married at whatever time I feel I need to and stop working for awhile to raise five kids in Texas, Colorado, or a beach area (most likely Corpus). After my kids have moved out I want to go back to finding the cure for cancer and spend all the time I can with my husband traveling around the world and going on the huge European tour I’ve had planned since I was 12. I also want to spend some time with Doctors with No Borders to bring medical help and attention to those who are less fortunate than us. After I have lived my exciting, crazy life, I want to retire and live in a huge castle (complete with a moat, dungeons, and personal indoor Wal-Mart) alonside my amazing husband. The End.

I’m Taylor Williams and I am a junior. This is my second year on the Silver Streak staff. As well as newspaper, I am also heavily involved in FFA and 4H, where I judge horses and show rabbits. I am also involved in Art club. I am taking my third year of American Sign Language and hope to continue with that, as well as journalism when I graduate. I am involved in Academic UIL, which I enjoy very much. When I’m not busy I am usually spending time with family, at church, or with horses. Writing is one of my favorite things to do and I plan to continue on staff my senior year as well.
Maddy Cunningham, Editor
I am a senior this year and have been involved with The Silver Streak for the past three years, this being my second as an editor. Besides working on staff, I am involved with Productions Theatre, Key Club, National Honors Society Presidency, and PRO internships. Through PRO, I am an intern at Amarillo Magazine and NewsChannel 10. After graduation, I plan to attend the University of North Texas, major in Journalism and minor in Theatre Arts, move to New York, attempt to make a living as an actress on Broadway, and then find a job working on a magazine staff in a big city somewhere. On the side, I love to distract myself with things like acting, singing, listening to music, reading and painting. I love to be busy and I take every opportunity I can get.
Cody Stavenhagen, Editor/Sports Editor
I’m a senior and this is my fourth year with The Silver Streak. Other than journalism, my other major interest is playing baseball. I also enjoy going to church as well as doing whatever it takes to dominate my fantasy football league. In the future, I want to attend a major university and try to make it big in sports journalism.
Ali West, Staff Writer
There’s only one thing you really need to know about me: I’m the biggest nerd on this staff. This is my second year on the Silver Streak, writing more opinion stories instead of sports for a change. I’m in my fifth year playing the French horn, second to only the prodigy Tyler Wingo. This comes in handy with my strong opinionated stances about band, band and more band, as well as anything that people do that happens to tick me off on a daily basis. In my little free time, I enjoy tumblr-ing, long distance running, and lots of music, from rhapsodies on the turntable to the latest obscure download on the iPod. I plan on eventually ending up at the University of Texas at Austin and majoring in Mass Communications or Entertainment Law.
Alexis Russell, Staff Writer
It’s about time. I’ve loved to write since I was five, and I’m finally putting my abilities to good use. This year, as a junior, is my first year to write for the Silver Streak, and I love every moment of it. Whether I’m interviewing a stupid kid or being criticized by Cody for my overuse of commas, I’m taking it all in happily. I also love clothes. And shoes. And bags. Anything associated with fashion, I’m sold. Music plays a huge role in my life. It’s a part of me, as well as my acoustic-electric Ibanez named Jessie. I spend way too much time on Tumblr, but I suppose that’s better than my current obsession with taking pictures of random people when they aren’t looking. So obviously, my Canon is always around my neck. There are so many beautiful moments in life. Why not capture as many as I can? I plan on attending Colorado University and eventually majoring in Mass Communications. After college I will marry the perfect boy, and we will live in New York City with our Persian cat. I’ll be the editor of a successful fashion magazine and own a perfect little getaway cabin in Manitou Springs. The end.
