Ok let me just let u know. Diet pills or easy to do home work outs do NOT work good at all. Only reason why on t.v. peploe are trying to sell these so called miracle pills that will make u lose weight for good w/ out doing nothin is because easy to do advertises better than hard work exersice. If u want to lose weight and slim up, u have to put in the effort. You need to eat right, exersice and if ur in sports, make sure u rest. To eat right, put away the chips and dip, and start eating more fruits and vegeis. Now that doesn't mean eat more food, u need to replace the junk food w/ healthier meals. Now, to make sure u lose weight, u need to burn more calories than u consume. About 2000 calories a day is good place to eat around.Running is probably the most popular way to exersice, but it may eventually get boring. so try and make ur work out fun. Join sports, play tennis, basketball, soccer, baseball, with ur freinds and just have fun.

How do sports not involve actual thinking, technique and skill? Band simply picks a routine and practices it nothing changes when it comes time for competition. In sports like football and soccer you have people coming at you from all different angles the entire game and its all about quick thinking, technique, and skill otherwise you will suck. Sports involve much more thinking than band ever will. And brute dumb force? Really? Go play a sport and tell me its just brute dumb force.

Band is not an athletic sport. It is an art though. For marching band you get to practice your routine and music and get it down smoothly. In basketball, soccer, and football you have to constantly be alert and aware of new things coming at you. Everything changes unlike in band when things are consistant. Band being demanding physically? I would like to see the kids who get tired for walking for 8 minutes go play a soccer game that is running for 90 minutes.

Good job, to the theatre kids and Mrs. Ludington and Mrs. Back. I saw the play yesterday at contest, and it is amazing. The story is relevant today; we have so many teenagers committing suicide because of the intolerance and pressures of society. I salute you all for taking on this difficult and controversial subject. It is only through the telling of stories and therefore the opening of conversation that we can truly make the world better. Thank you for telling this one.

I do not agree that band should be considered a sport, but it takes alot of hard work and dedication. I respect how hard they work, the band does amazing yet the physical activity is not high, but still difficult. The comment about golf though......getting up 5am to play in 32 degree weather ,rain, snow, sunshine, wind they go out there. they play up to nine hours no breaks carrying fifty pounds on your back is difficult. It is a sport and it is alot harder than it looks.

Although I agree that the slaughter of horses is completly disgraceful, this is no different than pigs, cows, and chickens being slaughtered for money. You really can't be aginst one species being killed for their meat, and then go eat a hamburger. I am sure that these horses are treated very badly, but so are pigs, cows, and chickens. Some people turn a blind eye to these animals, but proudly object to horse, cat, or dog slaughter. Soon enough there will be farms that just raise horses for slaughter, just as there is for cows, pigs, and chickens. I think it's really great that someone is writting about this, but can we really believe that horses are better than say cows or pigs? they should all be treated with respect. There is no need for animals to be slaughtered.
